The Global
Artist Diploma

The 2027 Global Artist Diploma runs for six months, from mid-January through late June.

Alongside intensive, dedicated Studios, Fellows access a wide range of live, interactive group modules, including Interpretive Studies, Masterclasses, Collaborative Practice, Performance Science, Artistic Identity, and Creative Entrepreneurship, with participation tailored to individual trajectories and interests.

As a baseline:

— Orchestra Institute Fellows participate in six hours of live, interactive group learning each week, held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays between 10:00 AM and 1:30 PM ET, alongside ten two-hour Studio sessions with their Studio Head scheduled throughout the six months.

— Conducting Fellows participate in five hours of live, interactive group learning each week, held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays between 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM ET, alongside a flexible selection of modules focused on artistic identity, collaboration, branding, communication, and career development.

— Composing Fellows participate in three hours of live, interactive group learning each week, held on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 10:00 AM and 11:30 AM ET, alongside a flexible selection of modules focused on artistic identity, collaboration, branding, communication, and career development.

— Piano Lab Fellows follow an individually curated twelve-month learning journey, combining personalized instruction with access to a flexible selection of modules focused on artistic identity, collaboration, branding, communication, and career development.

The Global Artist Diploma combines advanced artistic training with career development across nine distinct learning modules and streams:

Studio Classes — Bi-weekly small-group sessions with each Fellow’s Studio Head, focused on technique, repertoire, interpretation, and peer feedback.

Masterclasses — Weekly sessions with leading soloists, orchestral principals, and internationally recognized artists. Each Fellow appears as lead artist three times.

Interpretive Studies — Interactive sessions with top-tier conductors exploring musical intention, repertoire techniques, stylistic understanding, and artistic decision-making.

Collaborative Leadership Lab — Workshops on artistic communication, creative leadership, listening, collaboration, and collective creative process.

Creative Trajectories & Public Presence — Practical career training focused on artistic identity, audience and market fit, public profile, pitching, social media, portfolios, and résumés.

Applied Performance Psychology — Science-based tools for resilience, focus, effective practice, performance preparation, effort optimization, and schedule management.

Frameworks for Impact — Training in creative entrepreneurship, project design, budgeting, financial planning, and sustainable artistic growth.

Professional Juries — Live assessment before international panels, with detailed grading, feedback, coaching, and practical application.

Immersive Residencies — Optional in-person intensives featuring rehearsals, workshops, performances, artistic exchange, and cultural immersion in diverse global settings.

The Global Artist Diploma combines an immersive, interactive, globally accessible distance-learning journey with optional in-person residencies organized around the world.

— Orchestra Institute residencies take place in July and August.
— Composing Studio residencies are held annually in March.
— Piano Lab residencies are individually curated throughout the year.
— Conducting Fellowship residencies are scheduled individually throughout the year.

Participation in residencies is optional and is not required to complete the Global Artist Diploma.

For Fellows who choose to participate, OAcademy covers core on-site costs, including shared accommodation, meals, and local transportation. Fellows are responsible for airfare and a modest insurance fee.

Applying to OAcademy is free.

All accepted fellows receive a bursary covering 70% of tuition.

Fellows pay only the remaining 30%.

On successful completion of the Global Artist Diploma learning journey, fellows are awarded an official Artist Diploma from OAcademy, carrying the authorized seal of OAcademy’s curating partners, signed by the respective OAcademy Studio Head, certified by the Global Leaders Institute, and reflective of OAcademy’s membership in the European Association of Music Conservatories.

The Global Artist Diploma is open to exceptional emerging-career musicians seeking to strengthen their artistry, expand their professional presence, and advance their careers.

Applicants may pursue pathways in Instrumental & Orchestral Performance by Studio, Conducting, Composition, or Piano.

Applications are reviewed holistically, with consideration given to artistic achievement, technical level, professional potential, motivation, and readiness to contribute to the OAcademy community.

Applicants are assessed through the audition, portfolio, or supporting materials required by their division.

The Global Artist Diploma combines advanced artistic development with practical career preparation centred on personalized Studio Mentorship.

The Studio experience is complemented by a broad range of learning experiences, including Star-led Masterclasses, Interpretive Studies, Collaborative Practice, Performance Science, Artistic Identity, Public Presence, Creative Entrepreneurship, Portfolio Development, and Career Design.

The balance of classes varies by division, creating a learning journey tailored to each artistic pathway.

The weekly commitment varies by division but typically involves two half-days of live, interactive learning each week, together with artistic preparation, Portfolio Development, and independent work.

The Global Artist Diploma is designed to complement emerging professional careers rather than interrupt them.

Yes. The Global Artist Diploma is globally accessible, allowing Fellows to participate digitally from anywhere in the world.

The learning journey is further enhanced by optional international residencies offered throughout the year, bringing Fellows together for rehearsal, performance, collaboration, and artistic exchange.

Each Faculty Studio is intentionally limited to just a few exceptional Fellows.

This distinctive model creates space for sustained mentorship, regular individual guidance, and meaningful artistic relationships. It allows each Studio Head to understand the ambitions, strengths, and developmental needs of every Fellow while fostering an environment of exceptional artistic collaboration.

Studios may reach capacity and close for entry at any time. For that reason, interested candidates are encouraged to apply early.

Applicants may also indicate that they wish to be considered for another Studio Head within their discipline should their preferred Studio fill before they are admitted.

The full cost of delivering the Global Artist Diploma ranges from $10,000 to $14,350 USD, depending on the division. Through the generous support of OAcademy’s partners and sponsors, every admitted Fellow is automatically awarded a 70% tuition fellowship, reducing the Fellow contribution to:

Beyond tuition, Fellows participating in optional international residencies are responsible for travel, while OAcademy provides accommodation, meals, and local transportation during designated residency activities.

Yes. In special cases, admitted Fellows may be offered automated monthly financing by credit card, allowing tuition to be paid in monthly instalments over the duration of the Global Artist Diploma.

Successful applicants secure their place by accepting their offer and submitting the required tuition deposit by the stated deadline.

Because every division admits only a limited number of Fellows, places that are not confirmed within the allotted timeframe may be offered to another qualified applicant.

The Global Artist Diploma includes access to optional international residency opportunities offered by invitation throughout the learning journey.

For designated residencies, OAcademy generally provides accommodation, meals, and local transportation. Fellows are responsible for airfare and the applicable residency insurance fee.

Fellows who successfully complete all academic and artistic requirements receive the Global Artist Diploma.

The Diploma is issued by OAcademy, signed by the relevant Studio Head, and bears the seals of the institutions curating the learning journey.

Fellows can rewind demonstrations, study their own technique alongside a mentor’s feedback, and return repeatedly to the moments that matter most. Recorded video and audio support post-session analysis that traditional lessons don’t make possible.
