Audition Requirements
Entry Requirements
- Exposition of the first movement of the assigned piece for your instrument, as listed below (no accompaniment required);
- A single excerpt of your choice from standard orchestral repertoire that complements your solo piece.*
- A video statement (maximum 2 minutes) articulating your motivation for applying to OAcademy and how this opportunity aligns with your artistic goals and personal growth.
Your CV should include previous education, ensemble experience, work experience, and community engagement (if applicable).
Before recording your video statement, please read the OAcademy prospectus in full. Statements should demonstrate an understanding of the program and its connection to your artistic goals.
Video statements must be recorded in English. Candidates whose first language is not English are still required to record in English to assess artistic communication.
Performance recordings must be no more than six months old. Edits within a single piece or excerpt are not permitted.
Upload all videos to YouTube. Videos must be accessible without login or password requirements (public or unlisted).
The adjudicating panel reserves the right to assess only a portion of the submitted performance.
Technically equivalent repertoire may be considered if the listed repertoire is unfamiliar to the candidate.
